Our Story Began

May 14, 2018

On the night of May 14, 2018, I was sitting in my room scrolling through Instagram when I kept seeing ads for the dating app, Bumble. I had been seeing these ads for a few weeks, but I kept ignoring them. That night, I remember thinking to myself "what could it hurt? It doesn't hurt to try." Looking back now, it was a sign from the Good Lord that I needed to download the app that forever changed my life. When I came across Kyle's profile, he said that he had a pretty cool job, which immediately got me interested, so I swiped right. When we matched with each other, I sent Kyle a message that said "So what's this cool job of yours?", and he replied, "I am a football coach at a high school." Come to find out, he was a lay coach at Forsyth Central, which is the high school I graduated from. I immediately called my best friend Hannah, who is one of my bridesmaids, and asked if she could find out as many details about Kyle as she could since her Dad was also a football coach at Central. It wasn't even 5 minutes later that Hannah called me back, and she told me that her Dad said that Kyle was a great young man and that he gave me his approval. With Mr. Walker's approval, I decided that I wanted to go on a date with Kyle. We decided to go on our first date to Los Rios. I remember that I was so nervous but excited about our date because we had a lot of mutual connections. I can't remember what we talked about on our first date, but I knew afterward that I wanted to continue to get to know Kyle more. On May 27th, we had our second date, and Kyle met my parents. On May 29th, I got to meet Kyle's parents, and we had dinner at his house. Dinner was amazing, and I immediately felt welcomed by his family, only having met them just a few hours earlier. When Kyle took me home that night, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I was so excited to say yes. Here we are now, we have been together 3 1/2 years, we are engaged, and now we are full force into planning a wedding.

The Proposal

December 19, 2020

Back in late October/early November of 2020, Kyle's Mom had mentioned at a football game that she wanted to get family pictures made on December 6th at Milford Family Farm. In mid-November, my mom texted me saying that she had also booked family pictures that same day, at the same place, only an hour later, because she had also been wanting family pictures made for a long time. At the time, I thought that there might be a coincidence and thought Kyle might propose, but I didn't know for sure. I knew that Kyle and I had talked about getting engaged, but I didn't know when it would happen. When early December came, my family ended up getting Covid-19, thus, family pictures ended up getting canceled. I knew then that it was not going to happen. Kyle's Mom ended up rescheduling pictures for December 19th since other family stuff came up. I didn't think anything was going to happen because my Mom didn't reschedule pictures, and I wasn't going to be able to see them until Christmas Break. On December 19th, I began getting ready for family pictures. As I was getting ready, I kept saying how I thought that I was too overdressed, but Kyle kept reassuring me that I wasn't. When we arrived at Milford Family Farm, Kyle's whole family was there, and I still didn't know what was going on. We took a few pictures in one area, and then we went to another area where there was a tractor and a sign that said "Merry Christmas." As we were taking pictures, I saw my Mom out of the corner of my eye, and I knew it was about to happen. Kyle pulled me to him and told everyone, "Now we know why we are actually here", and he proposed to me. I said the easiest YES that I have ever said that day. I was so excited because it happened when I least expected it, and I got to see my family, whom I hadn't gotten to see in over two weeks. The whole day was a fairy tale and more than I ever imagined it would be.
