Our first date was at the bowling alley in Clovis, NM. We played two games, talked a long time and have been together ever since. This date happened to be on Cinco de Mayo. So that is a special day to us! Since Cinco de Mayo falls on a Sunday in 2024, we decided to do the wedding on the 4th but we plan to sign the wedding certificate at midnight so our wedding date can be 5/5/24! We are also planning a fiesta theme to keep the Cinco de Mayo vibe going!

On the way back home from a somewhat impromptu dog rescue mission we were traveling through Idaho. Joe wanted to check out the area where he used to be a on hotshot fire crew. He was very determined to check out, "No Business Lookout" a fire lookout tower in Cascade. We made it most of the way by car and then hiked the rest of the way in. Once on the top I realized why he was so determined to go up there. It really was beautiful. We checked out the area and after a while I said, "well maybe these guys will take our picture." One of the guys was happy to do so and took a few pics for us." Joe said a few times just one more," and would move us over a little. I said to the guys, "this is so weird he never wants to take pictures." Next thing, I looked over and he was down on one knee very much to my surprise. I said "YES," and here we are. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Glenwood!
