FAQs

Question

Important info regarding the ceremony.

Answer

Our ceremony will take place at Max Patch. Max Patch is located about 1.5 hours one-way from Gatlinburg and requires driving up the mountain on some windy, gravel roads. Once you arrive, you will be welcomed by a short hike leading to an open field and panoramic mountain views . While we can promise you won’t be disappointed, we know this isn’t everyone’s cup of coffee. If you prefer, you may choose to join us for the reception only at the cabin in Gatlinburg.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Plan to arrive to the ceremony location by 11:00AM to enjoy coffee and donuts before the ceremony begins! It will take anywhere from 10-30 minutes to hike from the parking lot to the ceremony space depending on your fitness level. Arriving at 11:00 will allow everyone enough time to grab a donut, enjoy some coffee and head up to the ceremony by 12.

Question

Is there a dress code? What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is casual. If you decide to join us for our ceremony at Max Patch, there will be a short hike from the parking lot to the ceremony spot. Please bring hiking or tennis shoes.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Due to the current circumstances, we are allowing changes to RSVP’s until April 1st.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony is outside in an open field with a 360 degree view of the mountains we love so much. Please plan to hike and stand! The reception will be indoors at a cabin in Gatlinburg, also with incredible views.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is a small, gravel parking lot at the Max Patch Trailhead. Please plan to carpool. Due to limited parking at the reception, we ask that you park in the aquarium parking lot and we will shuttle you to the reception.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The average temperatures for April in the Great Smoky Mountains is high 71 degrees / low 42 degrees. However, the weather can vary in different areas of the park. Be prepared for chilly weather and rain. Max Patch tends to be about 10 degrees colder than the city below and windy.

Question

Will there be cell service?

Answer

No, there is no service throughout most of the national park, including at our venue location.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, guests can head directly to the reception.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to the limited space at our venue, will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

There are so many options in the Gatlinburg area! We recommend you consider using Airbnb, renting a cabin, or one of the many hotels in the Gatlinburg area.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered on Zola and Target.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no” so we can plan accordingly.
