Julie & Gary

    Welcome
    Wedding Party

Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Julie Buchanan and Gary Lopp
There are so many people in our lives who have been there for us and taught us important lessons in life. We wouldn't be who we are today without everyone invited to our wedding. The people we chose for our wedding party have gone above and beyond as friends and family. Thank you for everything you all have done for us, we love you dearly.

Anya Montgomery

Mother of the Bride

At the age of 19 Anya Dutcher gave birth to Julie Dutcher. They grew up together, and learned a lot along the way. They endured great pain and loss throughout the years, which made the them strong women they are today. When Julie was young and away from Anya, she would call the radio station and have them play You’ll Think Of Me by Keith Urban. Music and poems have always kept them close at heart and to this day these two things have helped them heal.

Julie Lopp

Mother of the Groom

Julie Lopp is a woman who keeps up with the best of them. She is a strong and kind woman with an extreme passion for animals. In her younger years, she was a barrel racer. Her love for her horses was so strong, that she would even leave the radio on in the barn for them every day. If a horse wasn't feeling well she would sleep in the barn with them to ensure they weren't alone. All that carried over into her role as a mother. When Julie became a mother, she made it an obligation to ensure Gary was happy and well taken care of. She always put Gary's happiness first, whether that was taking him all over for baseball, or just to go racing quads. She always made it happen for him. Julie showed Gary what a strong woman really is supposed to be and to treat them with love and respect. Gary loves his mother very much and they will always be each other's sunshine.

Mark Dutcher

Grandfather of Bride

Mark Dutcher is the bride's maternal grandfather. In Julie's early years her mother stayed at home with her parents. There Mark and Julie would play phalanges by the fireplace. As Julie got older they would sit by that same fireplace and talk about life and advice. Julie's wedding ring was handmade by Mark Dutcher years and years ago. Little did he know a man named Gary would come to ask him for Julie's hand in marriage and that ring would one day be his firstborn grandchild's ring.

Jackie Lopp

Father of the Groom

Jackie Lee Lopp is a man of many skills. A few examples include welding, mechanic, plumbing, electrician, painter, fabricator, business man... I’m sure you get it by now. He can do it all, but most importantly he is a father. He is a father that chose to marry a woman on April 4th, 2004, who came as a package deal with her knucklehead of a son named Gary. Jackie chose to take on the responsibilities of mentoring Gary and being the father he needed. Jackie also took a step further by adopting Gary to solidify him as his own. Gary has had many men mentor him over the years, but none will ever compare to Jackie. Gary hopes to become a man much like his father. Hard working, loyal, dedicated, and to always stand for what you believe in.

Sadie Hall

Maid of Honor

Sadie and Julie met when they were 13 going on 14 years old. Julie had just moved from big town Edmond to little town of Washington, Oklahoma. Sadie was the first person to talk to Julie and they bonded over their love for Lana Del Rey. Sadie and Julie would have sleepovers and record each other dancing and singing. Sadie was there for some of the roughest times in her childhood, but Sadie never left. When Julie was made to move at the end of her sophomore year of high school she went into a dark place. One day while at school she expressed her fear to a teacher. Julie told her about how when she moved from Edmond that no one had kept in touch. Julie explained how she feared that would happen and that she would loose Sadie. The teacher responded by saying, “I have watched that girl grow up over the years, and I have never seen her as happy as when you two are together. She needed you.” It seems so cheesy now, but little did that teacher know how much I needed her. After moving Sadie did keep in touch, and after all these years they have shared every important moment of their lives together. This year they will both have gotten to be by each others sides for their weddings.

Daniel Kordis

Best Man

Daniel and Gary first met in Stillwater Oklahoma in 2018 at AMP Motocross park while at an open practice day. They talked in the pits getting know one another found out we were like-minded people. After that day at the track, Daniel and Gary stayed in contact. They spent time together going to races, practices, gun ranges, or just being there for each other during hard times. Daniel and Gary always find time to hang out and conversate and always have one another's back. Gary and Daniel are like the brothers they never had. When one slips up the other stops to pick up the pieces and keeps it moving forward. Gary couldn't imagine his life without Daniel being a part of Gary and Julie's life. 'CURRAHEE!'

Katie Cargill

Bridesmaid

Katie and Julie met at the ripe age of 12. They met through a mutual friend while attending Summit Middle School. Although they didn’t get off to the best start, when Julie ending up moving from her Edmond home of 5 years, to Washington, Oklahoma, Katie was the only one to stay in contact. Katie and Julie have been there for each other for some very hard and dark times. Although they didn’t always get to see each other, Julie prayed over Katie for years. For safety and happiness. Months would go by, but Katie would text and check on Julie. Although they connected from their childhood, Katie and Julie are still close, and all these years later Julie still prays over Katie. A song that always makes Julie think of Katie and their childhood is House That Built Me by Miranda Lambert. This song reminds Julie of her Edmond home and all the memories she shared there with Katie.

Christopher (Chris) Stokesbury

Groomsman

Christopher has been in Julie and Gary's life for the past 6 years. His wife was Julie's stepmom for the first 7 years of her life. After separating from Julies' dad, Julie lost touch with her for 8 long years. When she wrote her autobiography, Julie read it and reached out 8 years later. Since then Julie and Gary have been able to be a part of her life and that is how Christopher came into their lives. Gary and Chris have gotten close over the years. Chris has been a great mentor by offering up advice about life, financial, and relationship. Chris has shown Gary the finner things in life like scotch, whiskies, and cigars. Gary and Chris also enjoy watching OU football and Baker Mayfield together. Gary hopes to keep taking notes in the future to become a great husband and father just like Chris is.

Melissa McDonald

Bridesmaid

Melissa and Julie met almost 4 years ago when Julie took a job with Just Kids Pediatrics. Melissa has been like a big sister to Julie and Gary. When Melissa moved back home to Alabama, Julie and Gary planned a trip to Tennessee to come see her. That week was the week they got engaged. That week was also the week Julie opened up about things she had been in pain about. Julie needed a good friend and some damn good advice and Melissa was above what anyone could have given. After that trip Melissa has always checked in on Gary and Julie and made them her own siblings. They are forever grateful for their friendship with Melissa and wouldn’t want to celebrate this day without her and her husband Matt

Andrew Morgan

Groomsman

Andrew and Gary first met in Rush Springs Oklahoma at Pettiejohns MX Park in 2018. From then on they began riding, going racing, and hanging out. Over the years they have became very close. Andrew is a friend that Gary can talk to openly without judgement or criticism. Andrew is always there to offer helpful advice. Andrew always 'gets a feeling' when Gary is going through something or has something on his mind and will call him or miraculously show up even if they haven’t talked in weeks. Gary has always appreciated Andrew being there for him, no matter what.

Lexi Cseh

Bridesmaid

Lexi and Julie grew up just a town apart from each other. Although they knew who each other were, they didn’t actually meet in person until Lexi started her hair career! On the first encounter they pretty much hit it off. Lexi opened up about things from her past/childhood that Julie could relate to, and they were both very artsy and loved music. From school, to her first job, Julie was right there in her seat to support Lexi! Over the years they have shared stories of highs and lows together. When thinking about bridesmaids Lexi was an easy pick. She has always supported Julie and Gary and been there to listen and give advice

Kaleb Hopkins

Groomsman

Kaleb married in to Gary’s family years ago. Once Gary started riding dirt bikes Kaleb started to come out and coach him. Kaleb would always go to the gates on race day with Gary to help keep him calm before a race. Outside of motocross Kaleb always pushes Gary to do and be better and always holding him to a higher standard through out life. Gary respects how selfless he is with his kids and hopes to become father much like him in the future and just as respectable of a man as he is.

Tamera Davis

Bridesmaid

Tamera and Julie met almost 4 years ago when Julie started working at Just Kids Pediatrics. Tamera and Julie both have came from rough backgrounds, and both came out on the other end better and stronger than most. Julie has looked up to Tamera over the years. Julie is always mentoring others who have rough backgrounds, that you don’t have to be your past, and Tamera proves that daily. Having a strong friend to look up to, that will also kick your ass when needed, is always a plus to have around. Tamera has supported Gary and Julie over the years and since they share an office, she sort of has to listen to everything about their relationship.

Chibwikem Onyenegecha Palmer

Groomsman

Gary met Chibi when he moved out at 18 years old to Norman Oklahoma. Chibi lived downstairs from Gary. Chibi had moved to Oklahoma from the Bay Area of California to focus on his fighting career while working part-time at a local gym. Chibi was the first person to really show Gary how to navigate this tricky game we call life. From the basics of how to pay bills, to mentoring him through tough times. Chibi and Gary have stayed in touch as much as possible. Although life is busy and Chibi has a fighting career that he is extremely passionate and dedicated to, they always make time to check in with each other.

John (Coachy) Burruss

Entertainment / Grandpa

John Burruss is one of Julie’s bonus grandpas. Over the years Coachy has been there to love and support Gary and Julie. Most of all he always makes sure to ask how they are doing individually. He has never hesitated to lend his helping hand. This man hugs like a bear, but sings like an angel. Many years ago while celebrating Coachy’s birthday, he brought out his guitar to sing a special song to a friend of his who had just gotten married. The song spoke to Julie that night, and brought tears to her eyes. “Desperado. Why don't you come to your senses? Come down from your fences, open the gate. It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you. You better let somebody love you. Before it's too late.” Those lyrics changed what Julie wanted to think about love, maybe those lyrics were what made Julie open up a little bit more of her heart that day. Coachy will be singing that song again, Desperado by The Eagles, on her wedding day.

Alex Teague

Music Coordinator / Cousin

Alex is Julie's younger cousin, although he is more like a little brother. As kids, Julie used to cry every year on Alex's birthday because he was getting "too old." Julie grew up trying to do everything right so that her cousins and brothers would have someone to look up to. She has always tried to be a mentor to them. Julie and Gary throughout the last few years have taken Alex under their wings. They bought him his very first acoustic guitar and even took him on a little "pre-senior trip," which was the trip that Gary proposed to Julie during. They love Alex and are excited to see where his journey takes him into her adult life, and are excited to be apart of it.

Emma McClendon

Flower Girl

Emma is Amy McClendon's daughter. Amy McClendon is one of Julie's bosses at Just Kids Pediatrics. Over the last 4 years, Amy has been a great mentor to Julie not just at work, but in day-to-day life. Amy is always there to try to find a bright light in a bad situation. Amy has been a mother figure to Julie, and even brought out Julie's love for plants! Julie and Gary have been blessed to have Amy as a part of their life, and couldn't think of a more funny and sassy kiddo than Emma to be in their special day.

Paxton Stokesbury

Ring Bearer

Little Paxton is son to Christina and Christopher Stokesbury. Christina helped raise Julie for 8 years of her life. They lost contact for almost an additional 8 years, until Christina had written her auto biography. Julie took it upon herself to buy this book, having questions buried down for all those lost years. Julie reached out after reading, and after 8 long lost years they were reunited. Christina has been one of Julie’s mother figures as a child and now as an adult. She has been there for advice, for prayers, and for laughter. After a few years of reuniting Christina was blessed with Paxton and he is truly just a bundle of joy. Paxton loves puzzles and loves to make you smile. Gary and Julie have been beyond blessed with the Stokesbury’s as their second family

Alex Yaffe

Officiant

Alex has known Julie for almost 4 years now. At the age of 19, Julie took a job at Just Kids Pediatrics, where Alex is one of the owners. Over the last 4 years, Alex has shown nothing but love and kindness for Gary and Julie. Alex is one of the most generous, kind-hearted, animal-loving guys they know. Julie and Gary picked Alex to be their officiant for his funny personality and to thank you for all the love he has shown them over the years. They are excited to have him as a special part of their day.

Finley Dougherty

Flower Girl

Finley Dougherty AKA 'Filthy Finn' is the daughter of Dillon and Emily Dougherty. Finley is an up-and-coming softball prodigy so everyone let Paddy Gasso know to keep an eye out for the name in the future. Finley comes from a family that Gary has a lot of respect for. Gary appreciates Dillon and Emily for letting Finley be a part of this special day. We needed a fearless one to get the job done!
