Julie and I met about 5 years ago in a small group through our local church. These ‘small groups’ of people were our local community of believers that met every week to catch up on life and helped us grow in our own personal walks with God. Julie and I were more acquaintances than anything at that point, but little did we know that God had a very special plan for us. After just a few short months, our small group disbanded and we only saw each other occasionally at church over the next few years.
It wasn’t until early 2020 that we would reconnect. A mutual friend of ours had brought Julie up to me in conversation and had asked if I was interested in talking to her. It was the easiest ‘yes’ ever. Within the next few months, Julie and I got to know each other better and eventually started dating in May of 2020. Fast forward 10 months and with a little help from Julie’s best friend and her husband, I was able to surprise her and asked her to marry me. Everything about asking Julie to marry me made sense. That has been true about a lot of things in our relationship. We complement each other well, serve each other faithfully, and are each other’s #1 fan. Everything fell into place at just the right time for us. Julie and I would both attest to the fact that God’s timing is perfect. From setting the initial foundation of how we met, to the moment we reconnected, to the journey we are now on together; God had a hand in it all and we both give Him all the glory for it.
