You should attend whichever one you want to! We're hosting the reception in Alabama for our family there so they don't have far to travel, but we'd be delighted to see you wherever makes the most sense for you.
Children are welcome at both receptions. Virginia reception: We will have meal option for kids at the buffet, a quiet room if they need somewhere to settle down for a while, and a maternity room for mothers who need some private space. Alabama reception: Kids can order from the menu, and we will have some baby chairs available.
Our dress code for both events is semi-formal, also called dressy casual or cocktail attire. We're not fussy about how people dress, but if you're looking for recommendations: - Short dresses - Long dresses - Dressy pantsuits/rompers - Suits - Dressy shirts with khakis Note for Virginia reception: Please consider wearing shoes suitable for the outdoors. The parking lot is gravel and we will be holding the ceremony outdoors if the weather permits.
Virginia Reception: There is a spacious gravel parking lot, and you may park overnight as long as you retrieve your car by 10 am the next morning. There will also be a shuttle leaving from the Courtyard Marriott to the venue at 4:30 pm, and return shuttles at 8:30 pm and 10:45 pm. You do not need to be staying at the Courtyard to use the shuttle. Alabama Reception: There is a public parking lot behind the Grille, at 15 Town Center Dr NW, Huntsville, AL 35806.
Both receptions will have a mix of classic American and traditional Southern food. Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions and we will ensure there is appropriate food available to you. Virginia reception: Food will be served buffet style. Alabama reception: You will be able to order off the menu at the Grille on Main. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors at the Winchester location. Weather not permitting, we'll be holding it in the same room as the Virginia reception.
The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 pm, so we recommend you arrive by 4:50 pm at the latest. Guests will be arriving by shuttle at 4:45 pm.
If you have a plus one, it will be on your invitation. We cannot accept additional plus ones due to venue limitations.
