We met at the University of Arizona through the Pride of Arizona Marching Band! I was in the color guard, and Daniel played the snare drum on the drum line. He noticed me first, and we started talking and getting to know each other. We found out that we were both music majors, and we were also both in the UA Wind Symphony where I played the clarinet, and Daniel was part of the percussion section. We learned that we have many things in common, mostly that we each had an extreme passion for music. We started spending a lot of time together- take breaks from practicing our music to eat dinner together (he introduced me to boneless wings), play our instruments and jam out together, walk with each other after band rehearsals, and we would message each other ALL the time! After getting to know each other for about a month, Daniel and I went to get hot chocolate and he asked me to be his girlfriend on December 3rd, 2016! 3 years later, and we will soon be husband and wife! :)
I had made plans with Daniel and my family to go to the Planetarium at the University of Arizona to watch a laser show celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Afterwards, my mom invited us back to her house to have pie. Daniel and I get to my mom’s house, I see that all of the lights are off, and there are candles and rose petals everywhere leading to the backyard. Daniel takes me to the backyard and it is decorated with candles, rose petals, balloons, and the words, “Marry me” on a banner. While surrounded by my family and Daniel’s mom, Daniel gets down on one knee and popped the question. I SAID YES! It was the most perfect proposal, and I was so thankful that Daniel and our families came together and worked very hard to make it a very special proposal! Afterwards, we did celebrate with pie :)
