Julie and Cosimo met way back in grade school, most likely at one of Brandi’s birthday parties. Julie developed a crush on Cos early on (and yes, there is a diary entry from September 2009 to prove it). They spent their formative years chatting endlessly on MSN (the original Snapchat), slowly building a connection that eventually led to their first kiss on Canada Day at Terrace Bay Beach. Romantic, if you ask them. After years of secretly liking each other, they officially got together at 15 and 16 and dated through high school. Then college happened, and they went their separate ways—because apparently timing is everything. But the universe wasn’t done with them yet. Every time Julie came home from college, they somehow ended up together again, proving that distance meant nothing when there was a strong magnetic pull (and mutual stubbornness). On June 29, 2018, over fried lake trout and creamed corn—an elite meal by their standards—Cos asked Julie to be his girlfriend again. From then on, there was no escaping each other. Since that day, they’ve traveled everywhere from Alaska to sunny beaches, survived homeownership by buying a house in 2024, and continued choosing each other every day. The Proposal Cos popped the question while fishing in Rossport, because of course he did. He tied a decoy ring onto the line and had Julie reel it in. When she turned around in confusion, he was already on one knee with the real ring. She said yes—partly out of love, partly because at that point she was impressed. Their story proves that if you love something, set it free. If it comes back (and never really leaves again), it was always meant to be.
