We met working together at Helen Fitzgerald’s! I (Julie) was 25 and Cody was 23. We both bartended and Cody also was a barback and served in the restaurant there. I (Julie) was new there and started hanging out with mutual friends of Cody’s and it just happened out of nowhere. We definitely had a strong undeniable chemistry from the beginning. We took things at our own pace and let things just happen naturally and as friends first! We enjoy doing everything together from running errands, to sports and music.

We have been dating a little over 5 years now and have been through so much together! Countless Blues and Cardinals games (big fans!), Festivals (two of which we camped at and experienced the worst weather ever together- 1st time rained most of the weekend, 2nd time it was 100 degrees the entire time), family holidays, road trips to visit family, nearly running out of gas at a stoplight (his fault haha), jumping out of an airplane together, and even going through tragedy together. We enjoy and love each other’s friends and families very much, and they’ve all supported us from day one. We appreciate you all more than you know!

Cody proposed right before Christmas! We had bought our first real Christmas tree together and decorated it. We even had “C” and “J” initial ornaments and he put the ring right in between them in a glass ornament. He had the ring tied in it upsidedown with gold glitter in the bottom and string lights inside! He even got it all on video and Julie cried like a baby and said “yes”!

We are getting married at Innsbrook Resort in Innsbrook, MO. The ceremony will be held at 4pm lakeside at Lake Aspen, followed by a happy hour from 5pm- 6pm and dinner/reception at The Aspen Center from 6pm- 10pm. DJ and alcoholic beverages will be served- bring your dance moves and best wishes for us as we make memories together with our families and closest friends on our big day!
