Julie and Cameron met about six years ago at their good friends' wedding! Cameron, being his normal kind, outgoing self, was trying to talk to Julie and get to know her. Alas, Julie was not having it. He got her number, they texted a couple times, and then Julie made it her life goal to avoid Cameron at all costs. This avoidance game continued for five years until Cameron started coming to Bachelor Mojito Mondays at their friends' house (same friends from the wedding). Julie was not pleased that he started showing up and, in protest, continued her chilly indifference toward him. Then one night after the show, Julie, Cameron, and their friends talked for about an hour in their kitchen. Julie had an epiphany that Cameron was actually a normal, funny, and engaging human. After years of concentrated and deliberate avoidance, Julie was understandably freaked out by these new thoughts and feelings. She tested it out the next couple weeks until finally her friend asked, "Is Cameron still a hard pass?" Julie had no choice but to admit that, no, Cameron was no longer a hard pass and she actually would be very open to a date. Luckily, Cameron decided to extend grace and a second chance to Julie. The first date was August 7, 2019 and here we are today!
