Brett & Julie met for the first time back in the spring of 2018 while attending a Columbus Clippers game. Unbeknownst to both of them, they were being set up by mutual friends. Prior to the "set up," Brett and Julie had both expressed interest in one another to these friends, but as fate would have it, the magic didn't happen at this first meet. Things got off to a slow start when Julie showed up late to the game and the two ended up sitting on opposite ends of the row. No words were exchanged. After the game, when the group made their way to the nearby Betty's Bar, things continued to work against the pair. Just as conversation was finally initiated between Brett and Julie, a close friend of Brett's tried to swoop in, at which point Brett opted out of the conversation. Just a few short minutes later, Julie was leaving the bar and Brett had failed to even ask for her number! Fast forward to March 2021, Julie and Brett reconnected on Bumble, although they did not realize initially that they had previously met. Julie was once again lured in by Brett's good looks and good hair, but even more so by his sense of humor (which she had not gotten a glimpse of in their previous encounter). Although Julie chose not to write a single thing about herself on her Bumble profile, Brett was drawn in by her smile, and her outgoing and engaging nature once they began to exchange messages. After a couple of weeks of exchanging messages, Brett and Julie finally met for drinks at Land Grant Brewery. Brett did not make the same mistake again and this time asked for Julie's number! They went on their next date just a few days later and it quickly became clear that they held many of the same interests, values and a similar sense of humor. It was easy to spend time together and both fit in perfectly to one another's friend groups. Julie really fell for Brett on a night out at Zeno's when he busted out some of his best dance moves. Brett knew he was in it for the long haul with Julie after their trip to Portugal and vacationing with the Chase and Feltrup families in Hilton Head during the spring of 2022. As if he needed any more reasons, it was her sense of adventure and love of travel that helped seal the deal for him. Brett popped the question on a Thursday night in October, 2022 at Julie's apartment and the rest is history! We’re so excited to continue playing out our story with you all this December!
