Get ready to jazz up your Saratoga experience! The Saratoga Jazz Festival, on June 29th and 30th with performances starting at 11 am, provides the ultimate opening act for our wedding celebration. Picture yourself immersed in soulful melodies and vibrant performances against the stunning backdrop of the Saratoga Spa State Park.
Our venue, Saratoga National Golf Club, is an elite golf course that promises an exceptional experience for seasoned players. However, we understand that our guests come with varying levels of golf expertise. For those seeking a more relaxed golfing experience, the Saratoga Spa State Park offers a delightful public course nestled amidst picturesque pine trees and the historic springs that made Saratoga famous! It's the perfect setting for both novice players and those who simply want to bask in the beauty of Saratoga Springs while enjoying a leisurely round of golf.
Exploring Downtown Saratoga Springs, specifically on Broadway, offers a plethora of delights – from charming shops to breweries, distilleries, and an array of culinary experiences. We invite you to while away the afternoon taking a leisurely stroll along Broadway, where you can savor some delightful pre-wedding libations. Here are a few of our personal favorites: Cooperstown Distillery – Crafted spirits to tantalize your taste buds. Druthers – A fantastic choice for both delectable cuisine and craft brews. Uncommon Grounds – Sip on New York-style coffee and savor fresh bagels. Lyrical Ballard – A unique bookstore nestled in the vault of a historic bank. Esperanto – A must-visit for their renowned Oboy, an absolute treat for your taste buds, and conveniently on the main bar street (Caroline St) making it the perfect late night treat! Let the charm of Downtown Saratoga Springs set the stage for memorable moments and a delightful prelude to our wedding celebration!
Sadly, it will not be track season during our wedding weekend, but you're in luck! New York rolls the dice with legalized gambling, and Saratoga has just the spot to satisfy your inner Vegas and betting enthusiast. Enter the Saratoga Racino (nicknamed this for the harness horse racing track near by) – your ultimate destination for classic casino thrills. Roll the dice, spin the wheel, or try your hand at cards; the choices are as exciting as they are endless. But that's not all! When you're ready to hit the dance floor, their night club comes to life with electrifying live music performances, adding an extra layer of excitement to your gaming adventure!
Just a leisurely walk, a quick Uber ride, or a short drive away from downtown, you'll find more of our beloved spots: Beekman St: This charming street is a delightful blend of art galleries, restaurants, cozy coffee shops, and more. Artisanal Brewery: Situated right next to Julie's former middle school, this brewery, founded by one of her high school French teachers, specializes in sour beers (Julie's absolute favorite). Make sure to try their War Head beers, a nostalgic nod to the candies of our childhood. You can also discover many of their brews sprinkled throughout town. Saratoga Lake: Set against the scenic backdrop of Saratoga Lake, you'll find two exquisite dining spots - 550 Waterfront and Dock Browns - where you can relish memorable meals. Ben and Jerry's: Did you know that Saratoga is home to the first Ben and Jerry's location outside of Vermont? You'll find it conveniently located right next to Congress Park, serving up delicious scoops of ice cream for a sweet treat.
Nestled at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, Saratoga offers a gateway to remarkable adventures. A mere 30-minute drive from downtown leads you to the Lake George Region, boasting one of the Northeast's clearest lakes. Fun fact: Saratoga played a pivotal role in the Revolutionary War, with two iconic forts in Lake George and battlefields on our doorstep. What better way to celebrate our independence than by exploring these historic sites? Venture just north of Lake George into the Adirondack Park, a haven for hiking enthusiasts. Here, you'll discover Lake Placid, the famed host of the 1980 Winter Olympics, making it an ideal 4th of July destination. And if you keep heading northward, within a 4-hour drive, you'll arrive in the vibrant city of Montreal!
