"I showed you my waffle please respond"

or the day Kyle fell in love with Julie

This happened a few weeks after Kyle and I started dating. The context: It was my mom's birthday (or close to it) and we went to this rad breakfast place called "Shady Maple". It's this top of the mountain breakfast buffet somewhere out near Lancaster, but you had to get up crazy early to get there before it was packed. It was probably 8 AM and I'd gotten the best breakfast food, a fresh waffle right off the iron, and sat down. Kyle and I were texting back and forth that morning, and so I sent him a picture of the waffle I was about to eat. There was a 10 minute gap of no text back, and I thought "oh damn he thinks I'm weird now", so I doubled down on the weird and sent him another message , "I showed you my waffle, please respond." Kyle told me a while after that when he saw that message come from me after the waffle, he knew I was the one.

"Your girlfriend fell down the stairs!"

or the day Julie proposed to Kyle

It was a rather pleasant April Fools' Day with Julie and I playing juvenile tricks on one another while trying not to be made a "fool" of ourselves. I had decided to relax until after Julie had finished streaming and sat down to play a video game. After some time I heard shouts of pain, and I knew exactly what was going on. "This had to be a trick," I thought. "Game on." She continued to wail while I was slaying giant mosquitos, but I could not fail now. I was determined to get the better of her. No, I wasn't going to be the one to run outside their room, just to find no wound other than my own injured pride. Eventually her mother burst into the room and explained that she had cut herself from the fall and she was bleeding. I rolled my eyes, walked to the staircase and was shocked to find Julie grasping her knee covered in blood. I ran down to make sure she was okay. The blood was a mixture of water and some special kind of colored pencil. She held a ring out and asked me to marry her. I knew that her commitment to build a life with me wasn't a joke. So I said, "Yes."

For all the days along the way
