Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Julianne Howell and Kristo Hausmann
In our first few months together, Kristo would send Julianne three detailed options for her to choose from for each date in San Francisco. It seems only fitting that we should share our long list of favorites with our guests! Note: San Francisco is typically much chillier (particularly in the mornings and at night) than visitors are prepared for. Pack light layers!

Golden Gate Park

San Francisco, CA

Our favorite place in the city! Go for a long walk or bike ride, go pedal boating, check out a food truck, or explore the De Young or Japanese Tea Garden.

Baker Beach

San Francisco, CA

"We" (mainly Julianne) are big fans of the Sunday yoga class at the beach.

Ferry Building

1 Ferry Building, San Francisco, California 94105

A perfect option for exploring many of San Francisco’s “greatest hits” in one place. Try the sourdough at Acme, go shopping at Heath Ceramics, try the chocolate at Dandelion, pop a few oysters at Hog Island, and have a beer at Fort Point. There is also a farmer’s market on Saturdays!

Bay to Breakers

A favorite annual event in San Francisco - Bay to Breakers - is on May 18 this year! Bay to Breakers is essentially a 12K party through the city with costumes and top-notch people watching. Pack a crazy outfit for the weekend if you want to participate!

Sam's Anchor Cafe

27 Main Street, Tiburon, CA 94920

Take the ferry from San Francisco, sit in the sun, and have a great day!

Dumpling Home

298 Gough Street, San Francisco, CA 94102

A must go, even if the line is long! Order the pan fried pork dumplings. The Dumpling Story sister restaurants are equally good!

Emporium Arcade Bar

616 Divisadero Street, San Francisco, CA 94117

Our third date - Julianne won at air hockey and Kristo won at everything else.

Maillards

1994 37th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122

Our shared guilty pleasure is a smashburger and fry combo, and this is (in the running for) our favorite one in SF! Only open on Sundays at the Outer Sunset Farmer’s Market - perfect way to recover from weekend festivities!

Taqueria El Buen Sabor

699 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA 94110

One of our favorite SF burritos (although we have a long list)! Great spot to pick up a to go order to eat in Dolores Park, ideally followed by Bi-Rite Creamery.

Tony's Pizza Napoletana

1570 Stockton Street, San Francisco, CA 94133

We once had a 9-course pizza tasting menu at Tony’s and had zero regrets. Controversial take: the St. Louis style pizza is their best one (and we have pretty much tried them all)!

Rich Table

199 Gough Street, San Francisco, CA 94102

If you are hoping to spend a truly shocking amount of money on the best meal of your life while you are in SF, this is the place to do it! We went here in February 2024 and are still discussing it.

Limoncello

1400 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94109

This was our go-to weekend lunch spot for the year that Julianne lived next door to it. Cutest Italian market with the nicest owners! Order the Caprese sandwich toasted with prosciutto and hot peppers (thank you to our roommate Kevin for giving us this order!).

The Morris

2501 Mariposa Street, San Francisco, CA 94110

The smoked duck is so good here that we don’t even mind the so-so cocktails (Kristo has high standards)! Perfect date night spot - maybe opt for wine.

Nari

1625 Post Street, San Francisco, CA 94115

Our second date! We love the cocktails at the upstairs bar + check out the karaoke bars while you're in Japantown!

For all the days along the way
