How it started...

8/13/2022

Like many modern love stories, Julianne and John met on the famous Bumble app. Julianne came across a picture of a handsome guy with a great smile and was intrigued enough to check out the rest of his profile. She decided to send her best pick-up line, which was probably something along the lines of, “Hi! How are you?” Smooth, we know. John replied, and before long the conversation was flowing. After exchanging phone numbers, John suggested Blue Point Brewery for their first date, which of course Julianne said yes to. The date was going great, but Julianne had to cut it short to get to her grandma’s 90th birthday (RIP Grandma). Not wanting the evening to end there, John suggested they hang out again the very next day. They did — this time meeting up for a beach date where they talked for hours, sharing stories from their lives and building on their romantic connection. From there, their relationship continued to grow. They began traveling together and crossing destinations off their bucket list, starting with Aruba as their very first trip together. As their list of adventures grew, so did their love. Soon they introduced each other to their families, who welcomed them with open arms. Friends and family often commented on how happy John and Julianne were together. Julianne also became an important part of John’s children’s lives — to the point where the kids frequently asked, “Where’s Julianne?” if she wasn’t around. It didn’t take long for John and Julianne to realize they wanted to take the next step, and they decided to move in together, which was a decision the kids were especially excited about. Fast forward to a special trip back to Aruba, where John secretly planned a romantic sunset picnic on the beach (which Julianne believed was just a birthday celebration for him). Little did she know what was coming next. During the beautiful sunset, John got down on one knee and asked Julianne to marry him. Julianne, of course, said YES! They spent the rest of the trip celebrating as an engaged couple. While soaking in the beauty of Aruba, they realized just how meaningful the island had become to them. After meeting with the team at the Holiday Inn Resort and seeing the ceremony location, Julianne could instantly picture herself marrying John in that very spot, with beautiful Palm Beach in the background. It felt perfect. Aruba was their first trip together, the place where they got engaged… so how fitting would it be to get married there as well? They knew it was meant to be — the place where their adventures began and where they got engaged will now be the place where they begin the rest of their lives together, surrounded by the people they love most.
