It all started in high school, when we met each other in AFJROTC. Ian was talking to MSGT. Jones the one day in school about how he thought Ian and Julie would be perfect for each other. Ian was very quiet and shy and didn't bother to ask her out then. Fast Forward 14 years, Covid hits. Julie's friend Sara sets up Ian with Julie the one day and from there they would reconnect, and Ian finally had the courage to ask Julie out.

After going out for 3 years, Ian and Julie went on an Alaskan cruise. His original intentions were to propose at Hubbard Glacier, but he was a nervous wreck that he wouldn't have made it to the 2nd to last day on the cruise. So, he decided to do it in Juneau. On our 1st sailing day we had formal night on the ship and had formal pictures done too. This was to throw her off. The next day we get into Juneau. We casual photos done outside on top of the ship. The photographer asks Julie to face the railing, and he tells her to slowly start turning away from the railing as he is getting different angles of pictures of Julie. Little did she know, she didn't realize that Ian was already on one knee with a ring in hand. And that's when he proposed to her. And she said YES!
