After both living in Dallas for years without crossing paths, we (thankfully) met just 48 hours before Dave was moving to Denver--the best and worst timing ever! Living 800 miles apart is seemingly a deal-breaker for two people who just met, but not for us! We spent more hours in airports our first year and a half of dating than we did together, but amazingly never went more than 2 weeks without seeing each other. Over those 18 months we fell deeply for each other over nightly FaceTimes, frequent trips to Denver and Dallas, and incredible weekend adventures to places like New Orleans, California, Florida, NYC, London, Amsterdam, Mexico, and more (thanks Southwest!!). Eventually, Dave made the move back to Dallas! While our weekend flights declined, our love for one another and gratefulness for time spent together only grew. Our relationship has even survived multiple Tennessee / Alabama football games (if you know us, that's the ultimate test of love, as we are both... passionate... fans!) :) We got engaged in gorgeous Sun Valley, Idaho on a trip with wonderful friends in February 2020! If only we had known what was coming for the world in the next two weeks, we might have gotten married in that moment, too! Our journey has been unique since the day we met, so the past 18 months of wedding planning through a global pandemic, though trying, was nothing we couldn't handle. Our number one priority at the time was keeping our family (especially our precious grandparents) healthy and safe. Our vision might have changed from our original wedding dreams we made in February 2020, but, if you ask us, the outcome is even sweeter! We will be sharing a once-in-a-lifetime trip with both of our parents in beautiful Maui, Hawaii where we will FINALLY say "I do" to forever! While we are choosing a private destination wedding day, we are thrilled to celebrate becoming The Grays with loved ones at a luau party in Chattanooga! With so much love, Julianne & Dave
