Acadia National Park & Park Loop Road

This is our FAVORITE place to visit when in Maine. It plays host to some of the most beautiful sights, sounds, food and activities in New England! In the park, you will experience the winding and curving "Park Loop Road". Along this road you will see the granite cliffs of Mt. Desert Island on one side and towering mountains on the other. Bring your camera because there are many places to stop for scenic photos! Please check the park website before visiting because some places within the park require a reservation to access. Book your reservation to visit the park as soon as you can because people travel from all over the world to visit and spots fill up fast!

Cadillac Mountain

If you are visiting in a hurry, we AT LEAST suggest a quick drive through the park (Along Park Loop Road) and taking a quick stop at the peak of Cadillac Mountain. The peak is entirely accessible by car and offers up the most beautiful views of coastal Maine you will ever see. Cadiallac Mtn does require reservations to access so please book as soon as you know when you want to visit. Sunset reservations are the most popular so book soon if you are looking for those sunset views from the top of the mountain!

Thunder Hole

While driving Park Loop Road within Acadia National Park, take a pit stop at "Thunder Hole". Here you can walk down to the path and listen for the booming sounds coming from the ocean waves crashing in to a natural hole in the cliff side; hence the name "Thunder Hole"!

Jordan Pond House

If you get hungry while visiting inside Acadia National Park, stop for a bite to eat at the Jordan Pond House to try their classic "Popovers" with jam. The rest of their menu is fantastic as well! You can never go wrong with a Lobster Roll while in Maine! You can also walk behind the building down to Jordan Pond. The view across the pond to the mountains on the other side is truly beautiful!

Downtown Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor is a fun and quaint little town. There, you will find the streets lined with small town shops, restaurants, breweries, candy stores, and much more. We especially enjoy walking the easy-going/casual "Shore Path" to indulge in the sights Bar harbor has to offer and visiting Atlantic Brewing company. Be sure you get your hands on a lobster roll from any one of the many restaurants and if you're feeling really adventurous, try the lobster ice cream from the Chocolate Emporium!
