We met on a farm—yes, a real farm—while volunteering through work, both of us serving as sophomore and junior advisors for a college access program. What was supposed to be a day of pulling weeds quickly turned into something much sweeter. Somewhere between the rows of crops, dirt on our hands, and lots of laughter, we started talking… and never really stopped. It felt easy, natural—and maybe even a little like love at first sight. There was just one small catch: we were coworkers. So, of course, we both tried to be sensible and told ourselves it probably wouldn’t work. (Spoiler: we were very wrong.) Our quick chats in the field turned into lingering conversations in the break room, and soon we were finding any excuse to spend a little more time together. Before long, we decided to take a chance on each other. Our first date was at The Boynton after work—and while we both ordered food, neither of us actually ate it. We were too busy talking, laughing, and realizing that this might be something really special. Turns out, it was. From a farm full of weeds grew something pretty beautiful. What started as an unexpected connection turned into a love story we couldn’t have planned if we tried—and now, we get to spend forever together, still laughing, still talking, and still choosing each other every day.
