Just outside the doors of Stage Neck Inn sits York Harbor Beach. You will find York's largest beach, Long Sands, just a 5-minute drive up the coast. It boasts a one-mile stretch of sandy beach. In the village of York Beach, you will find Short Sands, which is about a quarter of a mile in length. Walk, sunbathe, swim, rest... Every day is a good day for the beach.
From the Stage Neck Inn, you will connect with the Fisherman's Walk just past the Agamenticus Yacht Club, which is a 5-minute walk away. Otherwise, you'll find parking spots along Hartley Mason Reserve. This 1.5-mile walk takes you along the York River, over the famous Wiggly Bridge and then loops you through Steedman Woods before returning on the same path. A walk for all ages and abilities!
Located in York, this public course is bordered on all sides by state-protected parks, making for gorgeous views as you enjoy the greens. The Ledges has hosted the northern NE US Amateur Qualifier for 12 consecutive years. Tee times for non-members can be booked seven days in advance.
Just 20 minutes from Stage Neck Inn (and still in York) is Mount Agamenticus. Here you will find a lovely (easy to moderate) one-hour/two-mile loop trail that features mountain and valley views. At just a 340 foot elevation gain, this trail is a friendly one.
