Flight
There are direct flights from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale to Cartagena. You will be flying into the Rafael Nunez International Airport (CTG) which is a short car ride to your hotel in the walled city, Cuidad Amurallada. Travelers must complete Colombia's Migracion online Check-in Form 72 hours before your trip or up to one hour before. Click the following link: https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/pre-registro/en Please note that to enter Colombia, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your travel dates
Travel Note
Taxi is the most common transportation method. Upon arrival to the airport, ask the airport employees for a yellow taxi. Before selecting a taxi, be sure to confirm the total cost of the trip. A taxi to the city center from the airport should be no more than $30,000 COP (~$7 USD). Uber is also available, however, it is not as common as it is in the United States. Wait times for cars may be longer. We suggest converting a minimum of $20 in the US to COP to have some cash on hand upon your arrival. If possible, it is best to have lower denominations since some taxi's might not have change for higher bills.
