Fred and Julie met at a mutual friend's college graduation party at the start of an intense game of Slap Cup. After their initial introduction, Fred and Julie spent the rest of the night talking to each other. But as all Cinderella stories go, the end of the night came, and the parties split with no way to contact each other the following day. Luckily, Julie had gone to the party with a trusted friend who followed Fred on Instagram. She shared Fred's profile with Julie so she could DM him before their connection turned into "the one who got away."

A few months prior, Fred had casually told Julie that he wanted to plan a little weekend trip with Julie and his family. His family had never really gone on any trips together and he wanted to start a new tradition with them. Not thinking anything of it, Julie said okay and blocked off the weekend in her schedule. Since the weekend was around Julie's birthday and a few holidays, she started getting her nails done for her usual seasonal treat. This made Fred nervous and suspicious because he thought that somehow Julie knew that this trip was more than just a family trip. On the day of the trip, Fred and Julie were one of the last people to arrive at the destination. Everyone was anxiously waiting and trying to distract Julie from the room where the proposal was going to take place. Once the room was ready and Julie had finished touring the rest of the house, she walked into the room with a rose petal and candle-lit pathway leading to a big rose petal-shaped heart with the words "Marry Me?" written inside of it. In shock, Julie turned around to look at Fred, but what she found was him kneeling on one knee with a ring pulled out. And in true Julie nature, she screamed and jumped back covering her face in disbelief and joy at what was happening. Then, trying to compose herself and seeing that Fred was anxiously waiting for her she walked over, said yes, and they hugged and kissed as their families cheered in the background.
