Their StoryTheir Story

October 2016

Our story didn’t start with a grand cinematic moment. It began with an online message and Ben’s search for a prom date. It quickly became the kind of connection that makes a three-hour drive feel like a quick trip to the corner store. During Ben’s years at the University of New Hampshire, he unintentionally became a master of travel logistics. Whether it was a train, Greyhound bus, rideshare, or a car rental, he proved that all roads (and rails) led back to Juliana. In June 2020, just as Juliana was tossing her high school cap, Ben asked for her hand for the first time. It wasn’t a rush to the altar, but a "down payment" on their future. That promise was immediately put to the test when Juliana headed to the University of Maine. Apparently, Ben’s three-hour commute wasn't enough of a challenge, so she moved seven hours away just to keep things interesting. After surviving a decade of long-distance marathons and a two-year stint in the high deserts of New Mexico, Juliana’s career called them to their next stop, Indiana. True to form, Juliana (the resident lover of adventure and "let's see what's over that hill") dragged Ben across the country once again. He may not always crave the unknown, but as long as Juliana is the one leading the way, he’s happy to pack a bag. On Christmas Day 2024, he proposed with a beautiful peridot marquise ring, a tribute to Juliana’s grandmother, finally turning their ten-year "promise" into a "plan." If you’ve met Ben, you know he’s the "social butterfly" of the operation, the guy who could strike up a conversation with a wall and leave with a new best friend. He’s also a caretaker in the quiet, everyday ways; making homemade chicken noodle soup when Juliana is sick, always refilling her water bottle, and stepping in without fuss when something needs doing Juliana is the calm to Ben’s spark. Reserved, thoughtful, and much worse at reading a map, she provides the steady ground that keeps Ben’s energy from floating away. Our love isn't about being identical, it’s about the way his "let's go!" meets her "let's think about this for a second." Our wedding is the ultimate reflection of that balance. Juliana suggested eloping; Ben suggested a festival. In the spirit of true partnership, we’ve met in the middle; a celebration that is heartfelt, joyful, and thankfully doesn't require a layover from Boston. Our story hasn’t been flashy or hurried. It’s been patient, steady, and built on a million small, true gestures. We can't wait to finally say "I do" with all of you there to witness it.
