Brought together at Sewanee by shared values (and a shared name), Julian and Julia’s friendship was inevitable. Their jaunts around campus - whether down a trail, into a swimming hole or onto a dance floor - always entailed big laughs and meaningful connection. Post-grad, their friendship turned flirty and they were quickly swept up in love. Almost two years of long distance dating was escalated by the pandemic when they both headed back to the Hermitage (Julia’s family home in Cape Charles, Virginia) for a weekend trip that turned into a 6 month residency. After planting a COVID garden, learning to deftly captain the boat out to the sandbar and committing themselves to hours of kitchen duty to win the best dinner award each week, they eventually ventured to Colorado for a year, where they climbed mountains and learned how to ski, only to hop a bit further west, landing in San Francisco. The life they share in the Bay Area is one of immense joy, gratitude and love. While they are always excited for a new adventure out west or abroad, they are constantly drawn back to the places that mean the most to them in the south east. With that, they are so excited to travel back east to celebrate their marriage with friends and family in Cape Charles come October 2024!
