It all started at Monday Night Brewing, where fate (and perhaps a pint or two) brought us together. Julian spotted Jen from across the room and immediately recognized her from a dating app they’d chatted on months before. Fueled by liquid courage and the questionable encouragement of his friend Tommy Hines, he decided to make his move—despite Jen being surrounded by what he swears were 30 people (Jen insists there were maybe 10). Undeterred, he walked right up and asked if she still wanted to go on a date sometime. A few hours and some wine later, Jen texted him to set up their first date. The following week, they met at a speakeasy called Dot Dot Dot, where their connection felt so effortless they closed the place down. The very next day, Julian invited Jen to play pickleball—pretending, of course, that he already had a game planned and she was just joining in. In reality, he spent the next 24 hours in full panic mode trying to find anyone willing to play (thank you, Lex). From that day forward, their story became a blend of deep conversation, spontaneous adventures, time with friends and family, and lots of cuddles from their two dogs, Winston and Maisie. Fast forward to Spring 2025: what was supposed to be a smooth, romantic proposal turned into two weeks of pure panic when the ring vanished in the mail. After countless phone calls, tracking updates, and being blacklisted from the Queens, NY post office branch, relief finally came—the doorbell rang and the ring showed up. With the ring finally in hand (and adrenaline pumping), Julian scrambled to pull everything together that same evening, enlisting help from his mom and Jen’s friend Cassie to create the perfect intimate moment in their backyard. The stress melted away the second he got down on one knee, turning what started as chaos into the most perfect proposal and the easiest yes of Jen's life. (Side note: we've since decided to be a FedEx family.) What began as a chance encounter in a crowded brewery turned into a perfect love story rooted in laughter, partnership, and the simple joy of showing up for each other again and again. We feel so lucky to have found our forever teammate, and we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by all of you who’ve been part of our story along the way.
