Zach and I have known each other for almost our whole lives! Our moms were good friends in school and Zach’s mom and Julia’s uncle were always very close friends as well, so when we were younger (maybe 6 and 7) we would always see each other at cookouts and parties. I vividly remember my cousin introducing us and saying “you know if you wanna date that would be cool” but naturally as little kids we thought that idea was pretty weird. Fast forward to when we were 15 and 16, we sat together at lunch in high school and the rest is history! When we started dating, Zach’s mom told us that our relationship was perfect because when we were younger we would always flirt and “everything was falling into place just as it should”. We got engaged on December 21, 2020 while on vacation in Florida. We had opened Christmas presents prior to leaving for vacation and I had hoped to open an engagement ring and had told my sister Brianna of just that and her response was (and might I add that she was very stern) “Julia, maybe he’s not ready to get engaged, you just need to calm the heck down!” Everyone kept joking with my mom that she could NOT forget her purse, well little did I know that it was because that was where my engagement ring was! He had plans to propose on Christmas morning, but got to excited and asked me to marry him the first evening of vacation on the patio surrounded by family!
