Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We will plan to begin the ceremony right at 5 and the Malaga Inn will be prepared to accommodate guests beginning at 4:30 pm.

Where should I park?

Answer

The Malaga Inn, where the ceremony will be held, and the Mobile Carnival Museum, where the reception will follow, are just across the street from one another and both offer parking! Parking at the Mobile Carnival Museum is accommodated in the museum parking lot in 30 paved spaces off Government Street and in a grass lot behind the museum. In addition, there is ample street parking within a two block radius, to include the lot at the Mobile Civic Center.

What should I expect from the ceremony and reception?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors in the courtyard at the Malaga Inn. Some guests will be seated in the courtyard (please let us know in your RSVP if you would like us to reserve you a seat!) but the majority will stand along the balconies of the courtyard to view the ceremony. The ceremony will be short and sweet and then we will all head across the street to the Mobile Carnival Museum for dinner, drinks, and dancing! Both the ceremony and reception will be held at venues where there will be no walking on grass or other soft surfaces. However, we do recommend that you wear or bring comfortable shoes so that you can mingle with ease and dance the night away with us!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love and adore your little ones and hope to spend plenty of time with them at another time and place, we politely request no children at the reception with the exception of immediate family. We hope that you will understand our decision to make the wedding child-free and that you will take the night off to celebrate with us!! If anyone needs help with making arrangements for child care in Mobile, please let us know and we will do our best to assist!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation does not include a guest but you have someone you would like to bring with you, we ask that you please just let us know so that we can make any necessary adjustments!

Will food be served?

Answer

Yes! We will have plenty of food at the reception! We did our best to accommodate all tastes and diets but if you have any special requests or concerns, please feel free to reach out!

Do I need to bring cash or credit cards?

Answer

Dinner and drinks are on us Saturday night! So bring your appetite and your dancing shoes (and also your ID if you would like an adult beverage) and we'll take care of the rest! We promise to take great care of all of our amazing vendors but, if you prefer to tip your bartenders personally, feel free to bring along some cash to show them some extra love!

Do you mind if I take photos during the wedding with my cellphone or camera? Is it okay to share them?

Answer

If you are seated in the courtyard during the ceremony, we politely request that you keep your electronic devices hidden to allow our photographer to get the best shots possible. If you are viewing the ceremony from the balcony, please feel free to take flash-free photos or videos. Please take all of the photos and videos you would like at the reception! We would love to see all of your photos from the weekend! If you choose to share them on social media, please tag us or share to #juliaandwade

I'm flying in. Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

We have Uber and Lyft in Mobile! The airport is about 20 miles from downtown (approximately $30 for an Uber). Otherwise, the venues for the wedding events are all in the same area and would be only a short Uber ride away if you plan to stay at the Malaga Inn or another downtown hotel. Downtown Mobile is fairly walkable and there are plenty of restaurants and bars near the hotels we recommend that are a walk or short Uber ride away. Also, Mobile offers Gotcha e-scooter rentals to get around town.
