Flight Information

Destination: Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) – approximately 50 minutes from the wedding venue. Direct flights from Toronto are available through: Air Canada – around 5 flights per week WestJet – around 6 flights per week Air Transat – around 4 flights per week Round-trip flights typically range between $700–$1,200 CAD per person, depending on your travel dates and length of stay. Wedding Date: Monday, January 19, 2026 We recommend arriving on Friday, January 16 or Saturday, January 17 to allow time to settle in and participate in the pre-wedding events.

Airport Transfers

Group transportation to and from Liberia Airport can be arranged for approximately $25 U.S. per person. This is a great option if you plan on renting a golf cart or having your rental car delivered directly to your rental property. If you're interested, please let us know. We’ll need your flight information in order to coordinate your transfer.

Villas Estival

This is where the wedding ceremony and most of the week’s events will take place. Villas Estival is a boutique beachfront property located on Playa Prieta in Potrero, Guanacaste. It’s ideal for guests who would like to stay with family or friends in a shared space. 12 fully equipped villas (2–4 bedrooms) Accommodates 6-10 people per villa Full kitchens, Wi-Fi, A/C, private balconies or patios Outdoor pool, 24-hour security, and direct beach access Approximate Pricing: 2-bedroom villa (up to 6 people): USD $250/night (approximately CAD $350) 3–4 bedroom villa (up to 10 people): USD $350–$400/night (approximately CAD $490–$550) Please note: Villas cannot be booked directly at this time. If you're interested, contact us directly and let us know your group size and intended length of stay.

Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo

This full-service hotel is located about 15–20 minutes by car from the wedding venue. Options include: All-inclusive packages (meals, drinks, activities) Room-only bookings Breakfast-included options Our suggestion: Skip the all-inclusive option. Part of the charm of Costa Rica is enjoying the many local restaurants and shops nearby. You can book directly through the hotel’s website or via Expedia, Booking.com, or Air Canada Vacations (which also offers bundled flight packages). We will not be coordinating bookings for this option.

Other Rental Platform Options

If you're looking for more accommodation choices, we recommend checking out Airbnb, VRBO, and Booking.com. These platforms offer a variety of great places to stay. Recommended areas near the venue include: Potrero, Las Catalinas & Playa Flamingo. These locations are close enough to access the venue and events easily. Anything farther may not be convenient. Please note that you'll need to book directly through the platform of your choice, as we won't be managing these bookings. See link for some options in the Potrero area If you're interested in a place but aren't sure whether it's conveniently located near the venue, please don't hesitate to ask us!

Getting Around

There is no Uber or regular taxi service in the area, so we highly recommend arranging transportation in advance. Having your own transportation will make it easy to get to grocery stores, visit nearby beaches, restaurants, explore the surrounding area, and make the most of your time in Costa Rica. Golf Carts

A fun and convenient way to get around locally.  4-seaters: approximately USD $350-$400/week  6-seaters: approximately USD $450-$500/week Golf carts are in high demand during January, so to avoid disappointment, we recommend reserving one as soon as possible—ideally by summer. If you’re interested in renting a golf cart, please let us know and we’ll arrange the reservation for you. The cart will either be delivered directly to your accommodation or available for pickup. Payment will be made at the time of delivery or pickup.

Rental Car

Adobe

Renting a car gives you the most flexibility, especially if you plan to explore the area. Roads are generally well maintained and easy to navigate using Waze or google maps We’ve partnered with Adobe Rent a Car, a well-reviewed and reputable company in Costa Rica. Other reputable car rental companies in Costa Rica include:  Budget Rent-A-Car  Alamo We recommend comparing prices and availability directly on their official websites. Helpful tips when renting a car:  Third-party liability insurance is mandatory in Costa Rica—make sure it’s included in your rental.  Many Visa credit cards offer coverage for Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Loss Damage Waiver (LDW). If your card provides this, you may decline the rental company's CDW coverage—but we recommend bringing a confirmation letter from your credit card provider stating that you’re covered, just in case.  Avoid booking through third-party sites like Expedia, as they often don’t clearly include the required insurance. This can lead to unexpected charges or high security deposits at the rental counter.
