We Eloped!

Like so many these days, we met on a dating app after Julia moved to Seattle in 2018. We dated for a while before COVID hit, so we got to have some great travel experiences and explore Seattle. COVID hit and we spent much more time together and got stronger through it!

Julia attempted to surprise TK with a nice trip to Portland to shop for rings for a surprise proposal but COVID ruined that, and when TK pressed Julia about the cancelled plans over Teams, Julia (bluntly) told her what she had originally planned and from there and then, voila - we were engaged! We designed our own rings and bands at Green Lake Jewelry in Seattle and had a wonderful time doing that. We took engagement pictures with Perdy and Petrie at the Pelindaba Lavender Farm in Friday Harbor, Washington.

We had a three-part elopement! We both knew we didn't want to have a large gathering, for many reasons - but certainly because of COVID and all the travel and stress that such a thing would inflict on everyone! We originally planned a weekend retreat in Lake Chelan, Washington but pivoted and held a small ceremony at a lovely courthouse in Kent, Washington to get the paperwork "out of the way" as Julia likes to say, which was part 1. We also did our photos early in the Seattle neighborhood of Fremont with Petrie and Jersey (part 2), as they weren't going to be able to come to Lake Chelan and were not at the ceremony itself. We really wanted to have some great photos with Jersey and if you check out the photo tab, you'll be able to see them! We still went through with the small celebratory weekend in Chelan (part 3) but did not have to worry about photos or ceremony stress and had a lovely cake that had already been ordered! We want everyone to know that we would have loved to be able to have each and every one of you there to be able to witness and celebrate with us, but did not think that would be possible in this day and age in a way that would allow us to truly celebrate with you. We hope these stories and photos/video will help you enjoy the days as much as we did.

The plan is to spend Christmas in Copenhagen! Neither of us have been to the city or country so we will experience it for the first time together.
