HOW WE MET: August 2019 Tanner moved into a house just 3 blocks away from Julia's. On his first Sunday at their local church Julia was one of the people in charge of welcoming new people into the congregation. INITIAL DATES: 3 months later Tanner asked Julia on their first date to dinner. Right after the date Julia left for a 2 week trip to South Africa. They went on one more date before they left town to spend Christmas with their families, both still unsure of the other. GAME CHANGER: On New Years Day Tanner asked Julia on a 3rd date. Tanner dropped Julia off right after the date because he remembered her strong feelings on Friday being the best night to go to bed early since you are the most tired after a full week (Julia still stands by this statement). After dropping her off Tanner texted her asking if he could pick her up again to grab hot chocolate. Julia said yes! They talked in his car and sipped their hot chocolate the rest of the night. FIRST KISS: As Julia does when she likes a boy she was then too nervous to look Tanner in the eye. On date 4 Julia managed to not make eye contact with Tanner an entire Monument Walk. On date 5, after many pep talks from friends, Julia was able to make brief eye contact with Tanner and he swooped in for their first kiss in Old Town by the Waterfront. From then on they were inseparable. I LOVE YOU: Between the COVID shutdown, Julia's Mono, & Tanner's back injury they ended up spending a lot of time together. What should have been a difficult time ended up being the happiest filled with endless cough drops and laughs. On April 17 at the Air Force Memorial Tanner told her he loved her! Julia said it back as fast as she could and now says it an average of 147x per day. ENGAGED: On November 15, the one year Anniversary of their first date, Tanner took Julia back to the Air Force Memorial and asked her to marry him. Julia said yes a million times in the highest squeal she had in her!
