First established as a trading post in 1849 and made famous by "Willie, Waylon & The Boys." You can sit back under the 500-year-old oak trees, relax and listen to live music. Luckenbach is also home to a historic dance hall that is still in use every weekend, a General Store and a bar.
A short but steep hike leads to the top of this iconic pink granite dome with sweeping Hill Country views. Keep an eye out for a small cave near the summit if you’re feeling adventurous - bring a flashlight! This is also a wonderful place to watch the sunset, stargaze, and try to glimpse the Milky Way! Reservations are required for weekends through their website.
Just outside town, this former railroad tunnel is home to thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats. Around sunset you can watch them pour out of the tunnel in one of the Hill Country’s most unique wildlife experiences. 10/31 is the last viewing opportunity of the season - so get tickets if you're interested!
