To answer that question, he was there since high school! The two met through mutual friends back in the early 2000s, hanging out in Central Massachusetts. Roman graduated from Milford High and Julia from Nipmuc. They both went on to college in Boston, at institutions right around the corner from each other. Their friendship was sealed over pizza, beer, escaping studying, biking around Boston, and enjoying live music. Sharing a mutual passion for healthcare, Julia graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Northeastern University, and Roman a Physician Assistant Masters from MCPHS. Julia's co-ops and travel Physical Therapy career brought her to the West Coast for several years while Roman's career as an orthopedic Physician Assistant took off back in Boston. Nonetheless, the two maintained a thread of connection that withstood the test of time. As if it were written in the stars, Julia returned home in 2019. To enjoy each other’s friendship again was nothing the two wanted more. Now together, they have a life that is filled with love, friendship, fun, dogs, outdoor activities, and adventure from Belize to Vancouver (and many places in between). In spite of their ebullient joie de vivre, they share a deep and unwavering support for each other that comes from a long history of also storming life troubles together. Even the personal and global turmoil of the 2020’s can’t stop the love these two share, and Roman proposed to Julia on April 5th, 2020 right at Julia's childhood home where her complete shock and amazement was witnessed by their families together. Roman and Julia currently call the Boston neighborhood of Brighton home as Julia pursues her PhD at Northeastern University in Human Movement and Rehabilitation Science and Roman works in Orthopedic Hand Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Finally after 3 years to the date of their engagement week, we are ready to break out our flip flops and lift our piña coladas to the happy couple down in the Caribbean!
