Bolesławiec, Poland

How we met

The Kenmore House

We met when a room vacated at the Kenmore house (essentially Chicago's KD sorority house). The girls ran out girlfriends to fill it and Paul happened to be looking for a place to live around the same time. Julia was not a big fan of a boy moving in but gave in when they couldn't find anyone else. After a year of being roommates and becoming great friends, we both realized that it had become much more than a friendship -- and the rest is history! <3

Why Bolesławiec, Poland

Town of Ceramics

We have decided to get married in a place that holds a special place in both of our hearts - Poland. We both come from very traditional Polish backgrounds with large family presence in that country. We would love to celebrate this special occasion - Polish Style - with everyone that we love. Bolesławiec is where Julia's mother grew up and where her mom's parents still live. It is a town located on the Bóbr River in southwestern Poland, known for its long-standing pottery-making tradition. it's celebrated as Miasto Ceramiki or "Town of Ceramics."

Pałac Brunów

The Venue

Pałac Brunów is located about 20 minutes away from where the Ceremony will be held at Kościół Rzymskokatolicki in Bolesławiec. Brunów Palace is a historic complex, which consists of three buildings: Palace, The Office and Coach House. The palace was built in 1750. It is an impressive building with a classical facade and Baroque interiors. Inside the Palace there is a wellness & SPA area, a cafe, a bar, a restaurant and hotel rooms. The building was created in the nineteenth century, the architecture of which refers to medieval sacred buildings. The main material used for the construction and decoration of the coach house is the sandstone characteristic for this part of Lower Silesia.
