Julia had worked at the Wilds of New England ever since she was 14. She would spend her weekends between August and October waitressing, working in the camp coffee shop, cleaning, and scooping ice cream. The last weekend of fall activities for 2020, Julia waitressed for the camp's fundraising banquet. Michael had never been to TWNE before, but someone had invited him to work in the dish room for that same fundraiser banquet. Naturally, Julia had to bring empty dishes back to him throughout the evening. They first bonded over similar experiences and their day jobs, thinking how great of a friendship this could turn out to be. Neither one could see all that God would bring them through together in the next year. Months later, Michael and Julia worked together again at the Wilds as summer staff of 2021. After a summer of becoming friends and a hard first semester of college long distance, Michael asked Julia to be his girlfriend on November 21, 2021, and they shared their first kiss! Michael joined Julia at Bob Jones University the following semester where they shared in many crazy adventures and made many wonderful friends. After a year and one month of dating, Michael got down on one knee and asked Julia to be his wife on Christmas Eve, 2022!
