Our 2020 Story

That COVID year...

If you can remember, way back in 2020 there was a time where we were all quarantined and for many during this period life was on hold. Many had to stay home and stay away from others, but not us. Joseph was on a military mission helping Cal Fire extinguish the Creek Fire, and I was working in health care at an elderly home. Both of us were recovering from long term relationships that went south, but neither of us expected to find more than friendship. We met online (yes online, the new cliché) and we began to talk. Since both of us were continuing to work during the COVID era, not much progressed in our friendship. Joseph is terrible at texting, and I leave everyone on "read". Eventually, Joseph convinced me to hang out in person and after an evening filled with lots of laughs and sarcastic remarks; he asked me out for an official date. Due to both of our crazy schedules, that date didn't happen for another month. However once that date finally did happen, it turned into two, then three, and then a regular occurrence of evening dinners, movie nights, and thoughts about what we wanted for our individual future. Eventually those future thoughts became thoughts of, "What would our future look like together?" The rest of our story is still being lived. We now invite you to see us off to our next chapter called Marriage.

The Proposal

4.23.22

Sports have always been big in each of our lives. It's no secret that we are competitive and enjoy watching a good sports game. When the Baltimore Ravens made there way to Las Vegas we couldn't resist a chance to see the game in person. The night before the game we did what every Las Vegas tourist does, we walked the strip with my parents in tow. As we stopped to look at the fountain show, Joey bent down on one knee and waited for me to turn around. As I turned, Joey held up a softball and slowly pulled it apart and inside was a beautiful cluster diamond ring. The next part was a blur, but of course, my dad recorded the whole moment.
