How We Met

Opponents to Teammates to Soul Mates

We met on the softball field. We started out as opponents and then became teammates. While we may have been playing on the same team Jason was not a fan of mine and he will be the first to tell you that. We continued to play together for the next few seasons but it wasn't until we spent some time together off of the field in the summer of 2014 that our relationship started to become more than just teammates. We realized that we were both different people when we were out of the competitive setting and that first impressions aren't everything. We found out that we actually had a lot in common and similar interests and our relationship just grew from there.

The Proposal

Jason is terrible at keeping secrets so while he had a variety of elaborate proposal plans in mind he knew he wouldn't be able to keep the ring a secret once it was in his possession. It was his birthday and we stopped over at his mom's for a visit and he popped the question right then and there in her living room. I don't think he had the ring more than 2 minutes before he was down on one knee in front of me sitting on the couch. I was completely clueless as to what was going on but said "YES" immediately and wouldn't have it any other way.
