I don’t remember the exact day I met Jule but our first date during thanksgiving break was unforgettable. Me and Jule share your typical cross-town high school love story that you would read or see in you classical rom-com movie. In high school we had minor interactions with each other either at parties or the Jersey Shore, but it took until late October 2016 for me to be a man and let her slide into my DM’s. Even though she initiated contact she was a feisty one to reel in for the next month. While she was in Louisville with her rigorous lacrosse training schedule, shadowing late nights in the ER, and me in Annapolis just starting wrestling season there was no way for us to see each other. Then Thanksgiving break came around and we planned to see each other the Friday following thanksgiving. Knowing our busy lives, that didn’t work out and we rescheduled for sushi the next day (Saturday). Thankfully this worked out and she was somehow impressed with my outstanding dad jokes and sarcasm. After dropping her off at home, and almost getting my car shot with arrow by her dad, (which raised some red flags but Mr. Wood turned out pretty good) we both wanted to see each other again as soon as possible. A couple weeks went by and we both came home again for winter break where we immediately went on a second date. Then went to Philly to go out with my sister and her friends called, “fancy sloppy night.” That night laying together on my sister’s apartment couch slightly intoxicated is when I realized I was falling in love with Julia Wood. The next morning we shared laugher and headaches from the night before as we drove back to Jersey. We continued to see each other over the break through Christmas, and her birthday (the 26th). The morning of the 27th her and her family were leaving on a trip to Jamaica and I knew if I didn’t make us official I might lose her. So that morning I asked her to be my girlfriend, and she foolishly said yes. Now she is stuck with me forever.

I just want to preface this story with a little history on both of us...Jae and I grew up about 3 miles away from each other, went to rival high schools (GO NORTH!) and briefly ran into each other at sporting events, the jersey shore and college tournaments. But dating started in October of 2016 when I was pretty drawn to Jadaen's (what I like to call) "sexy man face" kind of like Zoolander's blue steel one that I saw in a picture of him. So automatically I knew I had to talk to him, which lead me to "DM" him on Halloween night. We ended up talking on and off but eventually hung out on Thanksgiving break. Our first date was sushi and I was VERY impressed because he made the extra effort to do little things like open doors for me and pull out my chair when we went to sit down. I also want to mention how nervous I was not to be on the date (I was so excited) but to order food because he was cutting weight for wrestling! The second I walked in the door at home I told my whole family "I am gonna marry that guy" (it's true ask any of them). After that we both went our ways back to school and decided we would hang out again over Winter break. Then we went to Philly and had our first night out together. The next day he gave me his “Navy” wrestling hoodie where I proceeded to wear it around everywhere like a little school girl in the 8th grade. I was like wow "this is it I got his favorite sweatshirt." I knew Jadaen was for sure the guy I would spend forever with when he came over on Christmas which was a few days after Philly and celebrated my birthday the next day with my family and I. Every year my family and I sit at our kitchen table opening gifts and eating bagels from my favorite, Clinton Bagel. Jadaen was there that morning and literally was sitting at the table with a robe on and his feet up on my lap like he had been there my whole life. So that night he made it official by asking me to be his girlfriend and now were here :)
