Question

What are the regulations surrounding COVID-19?

Answer

Our guest list has been adjusted to meet venue requirements. Guests will also be required to wear masks when moving around indoors in common spaces. Dancing is allowed in groups of 25 or less without masks. Our ceremony will be outside, and dinner under a tent, which we hope will lessen the risk as well as our guests' concerns about enclosed spaces. We want our guests to know that their health and safety are our top priorities. We also encourage guests not to come if they end up feeling unwell on our wedding day, even if they RSVP'd yes, just let us know!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP as soon as possible and no later than August 28, 2021. If you need more time, please reach out to one of us directly, and we may be able to allow a small extension of this deadline.

Question

I don't see special dietary options listed for your menu, can you accommodate my food allergy or preferences?

Answer

Of course, the chef at Oceanstone will happily accommodate any and all dietary concerns. When you RSVP, there is a field to include dietary restrictions. Most of the meals offered can also be adjusted to meet dietary concerns. For example, all options can be made gluten free. If you've already RSVP'd and did not include your dietary restrictions, please get in touch with either of us directly.

Question

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

As of now, the only guests invited are those whose names are written on the invitations. This is due to venue capacity limitations set out by the government of Nova Scotia due to the ongoing pandemic. Depending how many people RSVP, we may be able to accommodate additional guests.

Question

Can I (as an adult) order the kid's meal?

Answer

Absolutely!

Question

How do I book a room?

Answer

You can either call (1-902-823-2160 or 1-866-823-2160) or email (info@oceanstoneresort.com) the front desk at Oceanstone to book a room. Tell them our names and the wedding date so they know you are with us. A 25% deposit is required to reserve a room. Rooms are limited, so if you would like to stay with us, consider booking a room sooner rather than later. Check in will start at 3 pm and check out is at 11 am, with breakfast included (served 7:30-9:30 am).

Question

What is the venue's cancellation policy for booking rooms?

Answer

If you need to cancel your reservation, your 25% deposit will be refunded as long as you cancel by 2 weeks before the wedding date if you have booked a cottage, or 72 hours before the wedding if you have booked a hotel room or suite (Hollyhock/Rhubarb/Lodge). If you need to cancel within those windows, then refunds will be considered on a case by case basis, such as if provincial regulations change so much that you can no longer attend, or if we have to cancel/postpone the wedding.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal, cocktail, or garden attire is suggested. Most of the wedding events will be outside on grass, so take that into account when choosing footwear and outerwear. If we need to use the tent, there will be heaters. If you want to wear heels, consider block heels, heel-savers, or bring a backup pair of flats. Also, prepare for changes in weather by bringing light jackets, shawls, or blankets. Please no jeans, loungewear, or athletic wear.

Question

Is there parking on site?

Answer

Yes! Parking assistance will also be provided. If you have mobility restrictions, please let us know ahead of time so we can ensure a parking space for you closer to the ceremony site.

Question

Will you be providing transportation back to Halifax after the reception?

Answer

No, considering the distance and how spread apart our guests live, this isn't a practical option. We suggest staying overnight at Oceanstone (or other nearby accommodation) or carpooling with other guests if you do not want to drive. This venue is somewhat remote, so do not count on taxi/Uber service.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Music starts for guests at the ceremony site starting at 4:30 pm. Please plan to arrive no later than 4:45 pm (if you aren't staying at Oceanstone). The main parking lot is a slight distance from the ceremony space, so you should factor in walking time. If you have mobility limitations, please let us know ahead of time so we can arrange assistance for you. If you are staying at Oceanstone, please factor in time to check-in before the ceremony (check-in starts at 3 pm). We will have musicians playing music for half an hour prior to the ceremony for your enjoyment!

Question

Is the venue pet friendly?

Answer

Yes and no. Only certain rooms are pet friendly to ensure that other rooms are kept allergen-free. All cottages and suites can accommodate pets, but not hotel style rooms. A $25 surcharge will be added to your bill if you choose to bring your pet. You must let Oceanstone staff know about any pets prior to your arrival.

Question

Is smoking allowed?

Answer

Oceanstone is a 100% smoke free facility, so no smoking inside any of the rooms or buildings. There will be designated outside with ashtrays for you to do so.
