We met while he was working at the Conway campus of New Life Church. I had just started interning there that summer. We had mutual friends who liked to hang out through game night or getting dinner. One night, some of our friends decided to go for a late night snack at Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. We all hung out more and more and the two of us started growing closer as friends.
I was headed home, expecting to have a date night with Dillon, when he texted there was a change of plans in our evening. He instructed me to look on my TV stand when I got home. On it, an envelope with "Let the adventure begin," written on the back. The letter inside instructed me to go on a scavenger hunt to find him. First, he sent me to Starbucks, where a close friend was waiting for me with a coffee and my next clue. Then he sent me to the house I spent most of my childhood where I received another envelope. It held my next clue and a hand written letter from Dillon sharing his excitement about our future. This sent me to my parents office with them holding the last letter saying, "I got their blessing." I hugged my parents and went to the last location, a park in Conway next to the Arkansas River where Dillon was waiting for me, surrounded by candles and rose petals. He knelt down to ask me to marry him, and I joyfully said yes!
