When should we start booking accomodations?

Our planner, vendors, and the venue have all advised the following: book accommodations ASAP. Supply is limited in Big Sur and in Carmel, and the easiest way to ensure a good room at a reasonable price is by booking early.

What should I wear?

Answer

For the ceremony and dinner reception, the dress code is cocktail attire. According to a certain wedding website, "Cocktail attire is a balance between formal and casual and elegant and comfortable. To an event with this dress code, men typically wear a suit and tie while women wear a cocktail dress." We think anything within a standard deviation of this definition will be well-suited (pun intended). Men might wear a jacket and collared shirt. Women have a lot of options, such as a garden party dress. The ceremony will be outdoors in the redwoods. It may be a bit (California) chilly in March, so a jacket or cover for the shoulders is recommended.

Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend staying in Carmel, where there will be more restaurants, bars, and hotels. We will offer transportation from Carmel to Big Sur and back for the Ceremony.
