Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Julia Mercedes and David Mueller
It will (probably) be cold, so going for a dip in Barton Springs or Paddle Boarding in Lady Bird Lake might be out of the picture. However, there are still a ton of fun things to do in Austin, many of which are eating super delicious food! Here are some of our favorite areas and food options in Austin.
South Congress

South Congress

1300 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704

South Congress is a very classic Austin area - it has "the" graffiti spot, The Salty Donut (Julia's favorite donut spot), Torchy's Tacos, Home Slice Pizza, and lots of weird shops.

Rainey Street

Rainey Street

Rainey Street, Austin, TX 78701

Rainey street is a street / neighborhood in downtown Austin that is a good place to go out in the evening. We celebrated our 2 year anniversary at Geraldines.

East 6th

East 6th

1701 E 6th St., Austin, TX 78702

East 6th is a vastly better experience than it's west-side counterpart. Good cocktail bars, breweries, dive bars, and restaurants. We love Whistlers for cocktails and Canje for some amazing food!

Zilker Park

Zilker Park

Austin, TX 78746

Assuming the weather is nice, Zilker Park is a a great spot to just hang out, have a picnic, and enjoy the view of the city.

Desnudo Coffee

Desnudo Coffee

111 Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78701

Get the their specialty lattes or their rotating cold brew

Terry Black's Barbecue

Terry Black's Barbecue

1003 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704

Franklin's is probably the best brisket in Austin, but Terry Black's is the best BBQ spot in terms of the overall experience. Very good BBQ, tons of yummy sides, and plenty of seating.

De Nada Cantina

De Nada Cantina

4715 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, TX 78702

Simple and delicious tacos and margaritas with that weird Austin vibe. This is a great place for an easy dinner.

Torchy's Tacos

2801 Guadalupe Street, Austin, TX 78705

Torchy's is a taco chain that started in Austin, so there are a few locations around town. They specialize in wacky, creative, over-flowing tacos. We love the fried avocado and baja shrimp tacos, and we always get the queso.
