Winston-Salem does have a mask mandate for indoor public spaces, so be aware that you will need to have one handy during our wedding weekend. At our Event: The Millenium Center staff will be wearing masks and gloves, but the venue does not require our guests to wear masks. If you have not been vaccinated or recently had Covid, or if you feel safer wearing one, please do! We will have masks and hand sanitizer available and want everyone to feel safe and comfortable joining our celebration!

One afternoon Julia swung by the Wake Forest Deacon Club, where Chris was interning, to pick up tickets for an upcoming event. Julia found Chris cute but barely managed to introduce herself before leaving the office. She did a little digging after that to find out just who this cute guy was and had a couple of mutual friends ultimately help bring them together. They went on their first date December 17, 2015.

Chris had the perfect plan to take Julia to a winery after the Wake Forest vs NC State football game. Julia began questioning his plans and figured it out just hours before Chris was going to propose. Knowing this, Chris had to think quickly and brainstorm a new plan to ensure Julia would be surprised. After the game, Chris stalled (secretly drinking a beer and eating ice cream) just long enough for it to be too late to go to the winery. When they finally connected, Chris told Julia they were going to mingle with Wake Forest donors at Village Tavern. Walking to the restaurant, through a nature path they have walked 100 times together, Chris completely surprised Julia and asked her to marry him! She said yes and the night was filled with friends, family and celebrations!
