TIME TO GET FUNKY!

It all began in CLCM 210: Camp and Outdoor Adventure Leadership — the place neither of us expected our lives to change forever. Julia was the graduate assistant for the course, and on the very first day she walked into the classroom, Carson’s friend Noah elbowed him and whispered, “There you go! She’s right up your alley.” Carson brushed it off, thinking no way. At the end of the semester, our class took a canopy zip line tour in the Blue Ridge Mountains — and Julia was there. Something about that day made everything feel a little more possible for Carson. The very next day, Carson invited Julia to join a group of friends on the lake. She came along, thinking nothing of it… but he was definitely hoping she’d notice him. Not long after, Carson brought his puppy to class and (very strategically) asked Julia to watch him. It worked — and it gave him just enough courage for what came next. On the day of the final exam, Carson handed Julia a pink sticky note with one simple but life-changing statement: “text me sometime.” So she did and that’s where this adventure truly began.
