Question

WHEN SHOULD WE ARRIVE & DEPART?

Answer

This is up to you! We want our guests to make this a vacation. Our events are on Friday, December 9th, and Saturday, December 10th. Ideally, we recommend you arrive no later than Thursday, the 8th, in order to allow for a travel recovery day before all of the festivities! Especially for those traveling from Seatac, you likely wouldn't make it to the Welcome Party if you arrive on Friday.

Question

ADULTS-ONLY, OR ARE KIDS INCLUDED AT THE EVENTS?

Answer

Our wedding and welcome party will be adults-only. We hope that you can still join us! Should you decide to bring the kiddos along, we can help you find a babysitter for the night. There are professional, experienced babysitters in Tulum, that will make sure you can enjoy the big day knowing your kids are in great hands. **Note: Your hotel may have a selection of recommended babysitters, or even one they use in-house.

Question

CAN I BRING A DATE?

Answer

If your invitation says "and guest" then yes. If not, we really prefer that it is just YOU! Either way, reach out to us directly for questions (or requests).

Question

WILL THE EVENTS BE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?

Answer

Both events will be held outdoors.

Question

WHAT IS THE ATTIRE?

Answer

For our welcome party we prefer cocktail (dressy) attire...but this is a semi-formal event, so feel free to dress a little more relaxed if you prefer. Our wedding is more Formal (Tropical Cocktail): think linen suits, and colorful dresses. Make sure to dress to impress! Ties/Bowties and stilettos are definitely optional...but make sure not to forget your best dancing shoes ;)

Question

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?

Answer

Most bars, restaurants, and stores accept credit cards! However, you should always have cash on you...just in case... such as for taxis, tip, and tourist excursions. Many local shops offer discounts for cash purchases. We do not recommend exchanging money or using ATMS at the airport, as the fees are usually much higher than anywhere else. There are lots of ATMs available in Tulum (we stick to Oxxo or 7-Eleven, since the fees are fair). Tulum is also unique in that it accepts USD Cash almost everywhere...so if you have some extra cash lying around, feel free to use it here!

Question

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

Answer

One of the best months in Tulum, December sees clear skies, lots of sun, and warm days throughout the month. You can expect warm daytime temperatures with comfortable, occasionally cool nights. The average temperature in Tulum in December is 82° F during the day, and dropping to 71° F at night.

Question

WHAT ARE THE BEACHES LIKE?

Answer

December is a perfect time to swim in Tulum's beautiful Caribbean waters. The beaches are sandy (with no rocks) and the water is crystal-clear. The temperature is also very comfortable, never getting too chilly nor too hot. The Tulum Beach Zone, otherwise known as the Hotel Zone, is where we will be staying. Even if you aren't staying at a beach front hotel, you can still enjoy the beaches! There are public beaches, as well as lots of beach-front restaurants and clubs for all to enjoy!

Question

CAN I DRINK THE WATER IN TULUM?

Answer

No, the tap water in Mexico is not drinkable. It is advisable to avoid rinsing your mouth with it in the shower and when brushing your teeth. (Pro tip: stick to bottled water!)

Question

ARE THERE MOSQUITOS IN TULUM?

Answer

Like any warm, tropical environment, Tulum does have mosquitos! That being said, we highly recommend regularly spritzing yourselves with anti-mosquito spray (at night in particular). We haven't noticed the beaches getting very buggy during the day. But they do come out quite a bit in the jungle at night. We've heard the OFF! Bug Spray, Deep Woods (the green one) is very good. Don't worry though, we will have Copal Incense going throughout our events...which helps keeps our bug-buddies away.

Question

WHAT ARE THE BEST BARS+CLUBS IN TULUM?

Answer

Although Bryan and I aren't very experienced in this aspect of Tulum...here are some more knowledgable opinions: - https://mexicodave.com/tulum-nightlife - https://insiderstulum.com/best-bars-in-tulum/

Question

WHAT MEALS/DRINKS ARE INCLUDED AT BOTH THE WELCOME PARTY AND WEDDING DAY?

Answer

The Welcome Party and Wedding Day include canapés, open bar, and full multi-coursed dinners. We recommend you come hungry ;) The chefs for both nights are absolutely amazing and your palate will thank you!
