His story is that we met Halloween 2009 but apparently I was too cool to talk to him (could be accurate). We officially met when I moved to Charleston after graduation in 2010 at Red's Ice House (common theme for everyone's upcoming nuptials). He was the general manager at the time and hired me. We kept our relationship under wraps for close to a year since, you know, he was my boss (favoritism doesn't sit well with those who are unfavored). We became "official" January 26, 2012 and the rest is history.
As our 7 year anniversary approached I had come to terms with the modern relationship of "marriage is overrated". I was never the little girl who dreamed of her wedding day or even wanted to get married. So when new years eve 2018 came the last thing on my mind was a proposal. We were celebrating my birthday with close friends in upstate South Carolina when during some backyard fireworks I was tapped on the shoulder to find Barrett on one knee. Shocked, surprised, all of those words! I finally said yes after several minutes of confusion and now I'm here; designing a wedding website, planning a wedding and loving every single second of being engaged to the love of my life.
We have set the date for January 25, 2020 at Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant, SC. The ceremony will take place at 4:00 outside (weather permitting) and the reception will follow after inside. The venue is located near Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant, SC. There are many hotels, VRBO's and Air BnB's in the area. Isle of Palms also has some nice rentals which is where we will be staying. If you have more specific questions please reach out to us:) Can't wait to see everyone!
