We're Getting Married - Let's Celebrate!

Julia and AJ met in March of 2017, shortly after earning their undergraduate degrees. They both were trying to figure out life after college and how to find a more active social group. One day, Julia was visiting AJ's neighbor, who happened to invite AJ over after a brief chat between their balconies. The two hit it off instantly as friends, learning they were both Georgia Tech graduates, both from Johns Creek, and that AJ had studied abroad with Julia’s best friend, Andree, a few years prior. He even recognized Julia from Andree’s Facebook profile picture! Shortly after meeting, Julia, long having the habit of inviting herself unprompted to people’s pools, did the same to AJ. His crew began to grow when Julia introduced Matt that Easter Sunday, as well as Blake and Amy in the weeks after. The five quickly bonded, creating the strong friend group they were looking for. It wasn’t until roughly a year later that AJ and Julia grew their friendship into something more.

As Julia and AJ began to hang out more and more with their friends, sparks started to fly. They started flirting as any couple would: with money. They charged each other on venmo for pennies, with messages ranging from the likes of “for being too cute” to asking deep philosophical questions. This started vigorous back and forth debates, truly giving their two cents, eventually leading to a date! A true unyielding proponent of equality, AJ insisted that they went dutch at Sweet Auburn BBQ, a delicious in-town spot with a delectable Asian twist on the traditional BBQ experience. Julia has still never let him live it down. One date led to more, and they started officially dating. However, they struggled to hit a groove at first and things fizzled out. That didn’t stop them from trying again later, as the natural chemistry between the two was undeniable. One day, like a Disney story, it all finally clicked for them. AJ began to fall for Julia hard, including her care and detail to interpersonal relationships, upfront demeanor, and focused drive in life. It also didn’t hurt that she is beyond hot… Julia fell for AJ as well, specifically his goofy sense of humor, empathy towards others, general friendliness with everyone, and weird dance moves. Shortly after an unreleased Griz song debuted at a seriously sick set, AJ professed his love. ((For those not in the know, Griz (Grant Richard Kwiecinski) is one of their favorite artists. You will definitely be hearing some bangers on the reception dance floor, so be ready!)). It was actually pretty cute. Julia stopped under the festival lights and said “Hey, I’ve been meaning to tell you something…” AJ instantly cut in, declaring, “Wait, first I have to tell you something…I love you!”, beating her to the punch by mere moments. Then they kissed. It was pretty tight. :) They continued traveling, going to concerts, and loving each other more and more. A little over two years ago, they moved in together, and life has never been better. Although Julia initially had her reservations, she adores waking up next to AJ and having him around to perform husbandly duties (such as cleaning, sometimes cooking, and taking care of the cats when she is away). AJ agrees, as there is nothing he loves more than falling asleep next to his Julia.

Currently, Julia and AJ live in historic Cabbagetown, where they hope to one day reside in their dream home. Their condo includes two of the craziest kittens in town, Taco and Nova (@naco_and_tova), who will always share their love for a treat. Their hobbies include: * Exploring Atlanta restaurants and enjoying food adventures * Hosting their ever-expanding circle of close friends * Dancing to live music sets * Snowboarding across the country (can you believe Julia owns one?? And that she shreds now????) * Traveling; At least one big trip a year with many small ones intermixed
