Flight Information

There are many different ways you could make your way down to Taormina! The closest airport is in Catania, but the biggest and most accessible airports from the US are in Rome and Naples. Our personal recommendation is to do your other travels (if any) beforehand and catch a flight from a different city in Europe to Catania. If you are planning on coming straight to Taormina, we have listed a few options that we suggest, and we have linked the Omio website which is super helpful in navigating flights, trains, busses, and ferries abroad!

Vincenzo Bellini Catania Airport

Flying into Catania will get you the closest you can get to Taormina! From CTA, the best option into Taormina is a taxi or a rental car. This will likely be the most expensive option from the US, but would be a great option for those traveling abroad before the big day!

Naples International Airport

Flying into Naples from the US is one of the cheaper options. From Naples, we would suggest taking a ferry (they are awesome!) to the Port of Messina or taking a short flight to Catania. From either the Port of Messina or Catania, you will need to take a taxi or rental car to Taormina.

Leonardo da Vinci International Airport

You'll likely find the best prices when flying into FCO from the US. Similarly to flying into Naples, you will need to book another flight into Catania. We highly suggest booking your flight to Catania separately using the Omio website (you'll find much more affordable flights). Again, from Catania you will need to taxi or get a rental car to get to Taormina.

Europcar

If you decide to rent a car (our wedding planner has suggested this will be the best way to get around in Sicily), Europcar is a company we have used and have had great experiences with. Getting an international driver's license would be ideal if taking this route!

Hotel Information

There are tons of hotel options in Taormina, so you’ll have no trouble finding a place that works for you. While traditional hotel blocks aren't commonly offered in Taormina, we have secured a block for Hotel Elios, a well-located and budget-friendly option. In addition, we’ve included a couple other hotel recommendations to help guide your search based on different price points. For a more flexible and often less expensive stay, we highly recommend exploring Airbnb options, especially if you’re traveling with friends or family. If Airbnb is not the way you want to go, we recommend discussing the options with your friends or family and booking a hotel together, whether it be the ones we suggest here or based on your own research. Hotel Elios is a budget-friendly option. It is a 15-minute walk from the Villa Mon Repos. We’ve reserved a block of rooms there, but you’ll need to book through our wedding planners using a special link. Hotel Il Piccolo Giardino

Hotel Il Piccolo Giardino is a mid-range hotel located in the heart of Taormina. It’s about a 30-minute walk to the wedding venue, but we plan to arrange alternate transportation for guests staying in this area. Please note: we do not have a room block at this hotel, so we recommend booking as soon as possible if you're interested!

Hotel Villa Belvedere is a more upscale option located near Hotel Elios, also about a 15-minute walk from the venue. Please note: we do not have a room block at this hotel, so we recommend booking as soon as possible if you're interested!
