Things to Know

Question

Altitude - Important!

Answer

We can’t wait to celebrate with you in the mountains! To help you prepare, here’s what you need to know: Salt Lake City sits at 4,300 ft above sea level. The Cliff Lodge is at 8,000 ft, and our ceremony at The Summit will be all the way up at 11,000 ft. For reference, most of you from the East Coast are accustomed to elevations under 1,000 ft—so this will feel very different! We highly encourage you to come early if you can. Not only will it give you time to acclimate, but Utah has so much to offer—from exploring the nearby Wasatch Mountains to road-tripping south to see Zion, Canyonlands, or Moab. Altitude sickness is, unfortunately, very real—so please drink lots of water, eat regularly, and give yourself time to adjust. The better prepared you are, the more you can relax and enjoy the celebration!

Question

RSVP Deadline

Answer

Let us know if you plan to join us by May 1st, 2026

Question

Bring your ID!

Answer

Utah law is weird! Anyone that looks under the age of 35 can be ID'd when being served alcohol... even at a wedding :) If this applies to you, please bring your ID to the ceremony and reception if you plan to enjoy a drink.

Question

Weather

Answer

Utah summers bring plenty of sunshine and warmth but temperatures change quickly as you head up the mountain. If you're checking the forecast, be sure to look at Snowbird, UT—not Salt Lake City! The weather can be 15–30° cooler up here than in the valley. At the base of Snowbird where The Cliff Lodge is, daytime highs are usually in the 80–90°F with evenings cooling to the mid-60s to mid-70s. Up at the Summit where our wedding ceremony will take place, daytime temps are typically mid-60s to 80°F, dropping to the mid-50s to mid-60s in the evening. And remember, this is a dry heat, not the sticky humidity we know from Carolina summers, so it feels different even when the numbers look high. A good rule of thumb: expect a 10–15° temperature drop from the Salt Lake Valley to the base of Snowbird, and another 10–15° drop from the base to the Summit!

Question

Wedding Day Logistics

Answer

On our wedding day, guests will take a short stroll—about 60 steps—from The Cliff Lodge to the Tram Loading Station at the Snowbird Center. For those needing special assistance, we’ll have transportation available from the lodge’s valet area directly to the Tram. Each of our guests will be provided with a tram pass that gives you access to the tram for our wedding day and time only. (If you’d like to ride the tram at other times during your visit, you can purchase passes directly through Snowbird.) The tram carries about 60 people at a time and will run multiple times before the ceremony begins. The ride to the top takes about 10 minutes, with gorgeous mountain views the whole way up. At the Summit, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside so you can soak in the scenery. An indoor reception and dancing will follow! Return trams will run throughout the evening if you need to leave early.

Question

Question

Why Snowbird?

Answer

So much of our love story is rooted in Utah— especially right here at Snowbird. Our first date was in Utah, the first time we traveled and lived together was in Utah, the first “I love you” was in Utah… you get the idea. Over the past five ski seasons, we’ve spent countless winter days carving down these slopes together, creating some of our favorite memories. It only feels right to get married where it all began and share this special place with all of our favorite people. Snowbird isn’t just a backdrop for our wedding—it’s a place that holds so much of us, and we can’t wait for you to experience it too.
