We first met fourteen years ago while I was on a humanitarian trip. When I had first met Vasyl and Nadia (his sister) I knew that we would be such good friends at first moment but little did I imagine that our paths would once again cross. We enjoyed such special times together with Oriza here in the city and in the parks. I wrote in my journal every day during my trip and laughed as I reread journal this February and discovered special moments with Vasyl. He once came to the apartment where I was staying to spend the day with me and I wrote how we raced eachother up the stairs and how Flo made us a meal and how I appreciated and respected his kindness and gentle manners then and now more then ever. We reconnected last year in may or June and wrote everyday. At first, it was casual writing and I just knew that I wanted to be his friends and available for him if he needed extra support. Little did I realize that love followed not long after. We saw God answering many of our prayers and provide miracles even of saving his life. The Lord has been so good to us and we finally were able to see eachother again in April. At first, I was nervous as I didn’t know if writing and face to face communication would be different . We were both happy to discover that our friendship that had blossomed into love long distance was genuine and natural. It was as if I had never left and like we knew eachother our whole lives. So here we are, six months later and on the verge of embarking on our journey together in marriage.
