Just kidding! But we did meet online- OKCupid to be exact. In October of 2017, RJ reached out to Julie with a thoughtful message (read: used correct grammar and wasn't creepy- basically a real life prince charming in the online dating world), so Julie decided to message him back. I also thought his profile pic in a Panda costume from Halloween was pretty cute! Witty banter via online messaging progressed to exchanging phone numbers, and eventually to meeting in person for happy hour drinks a few weeks later. We hit it off immediately in person, but dating was slow going at first due to hectic work schedules and slightly cold feet on Julie's part. After a few months though, we finally found ourselves on the same page, and made it "official" in March of 2018. Later that year, we moved in together, and by the following spring, started a business, as well as began building a house. Then in June of 2019, RJ proposed, and we are now looking forward to the next big milestone- celebrating our wedding with family and friends!
RJ pulled off his first (and likely last) surprise by proposing on the lot of our future home, followed by drinks with some local family & friends at one of our favorite watering holes near our new home. Wondering what a fake tooth and an alley have to do with all of this? You'll have to ask RJ for more details the next time you see him!
